Two eggs on my plate is a book written by Olief Reed Olsen and is set on the period of ww-II and the German occupation of Norway.
Having escaped from the German occupation of Norway, the author was trained in Canada as an agent and parachuted back into Norway with the task of watching and reporting on the movements of German shipping.
The camp at which the author was training had a code. Any guy who gets two eggs on his plate for dinner was to make himself ready for being paradropped over Norway. That's how the book gets its name. I read the book in my 7th Standard in 1987 in Rajgangpur , Orissa and the heroic exploits of the three boys inspired me no end.
I find the book very inspiring- somehow it motivates me to to stretch myself , do heroic things , give everything for a cause. I feel that is the way life should be lived - giving heart and soul for a cause.

Thanks, Nikhil. And how right you are in saying, "I feel that is the way life should be lived - giving heart and soul for a cause." That is perhaps the best way. It transforms the individual. Makes him content and peaceful. For all energies are directed towards a noble cause. It doen't leave any room for either self-condemnation, self-praise, brooding, or negativities. Thanks again.

My question now is how to rise again towards such a noble endeavour after circumstances and one's weaknesses have wiped the smile off one's face and literally forced one to eat dirt. God is there. I do believe in him, sincerely during rare moments, otherwise an assent. He must have His purpose. Yet...
